Le Ballon Rouge, by Albert Lamorisse
These were my final stills for Syracuse Summer College Art Photography Class. The assignment was to recreate 5 film stills, from the movie of our choice, and I decided to do Le Ballon Rouge, The Red Balloon, by Albert Lamorisse. I love this movie. It’s a French children’s film of a boy who follows a red balloon through the streets of Paris. There’s almost no dialogue and it’s mostly a silent film, but the visuals are stunning and I wanted to recreate. Unfortunately, I slept in and had 30 minutes before class to shoot, edit and submit these images, so this is 30 minutes of procrastination and where it gets you. Enjoy!
